We are seeking an enthusiastic intern to join our team and help develop a comprehensive financial model that integrates exploratory modelling and Energy Management System (EMS) compatibility. This unique opportunity will allow you to contribute to the financial and technical analysis of sustainable assets (such as large-scale batteries and electrolysers) and in the process enhancing our company’s ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.

As an intern in our finance team, you will play a key role in this transformative project by improving our existing financial model and the analysis resulting from the model. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop Financial Models: Create and refine Excel-based financial models to support the company’s financial analysis and forecasting efforts.
  • Integrate Modelling Methodologies: Combine traditional financial modelling with exploratory modelling techniques to produce a robust, integrated financial analysis framework.
  • Collaborate on Energy Management System: Work closely with our team to integrate the company’s Python-based Energy Management System with financial models, ensuring seamless interaction between technical performance simulations and financial evaluations.
  • Analyse Sustainable Assets: Simulate and evaluate the economic and technical performance of sustainable assets, providing insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Document and Present Findings: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

While the primary focus of the internship will be on the tasks outlined in the job description, we are always open to discussing proposals for your own research projects in this area.

Your profile

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (BSc, MSc). Examples of suitable degrees include: Engineering and Policy Analysis and Econometrics.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel for financial modelling, with a solid understanding of financial statements and forecasting techniques.
